The hill-top monastery of Sant Salvador stands atop the mountain of the same name, 500 metres above sea level. Although its origin dates back to 1348, the present church was built in the early 18th century, when a depiction of the Virgin Mary already worshipped at this sanctuary since the 15th century, was placed on its altar.
The small chapel by the side of the road leading up to the monastery, was built in 1910 in honour of the exact place where, according to legend, a shepherd discovered the likeness the Mother of God. Also inaugurated at a later date in 1934 was the monument of Christ the King, or Crist Rei and the subsequent cross, Creu del Picot (1957).
