The battle commemorates each year the fight of May 30, 1550, in which the Christians, led by Joan Mas, won the victory over the Turkish pirates, led by the terrifying Dragut. A great multitude of neighbors and foreigners staged the confrontation between Moors and Christians. For a few hours, the air of Pollença smells of gunpowder and of mixing, which circulates in abundance among the hordes of the two opposing sides. This colorful party is celebrated five days before the feast of the patron saint (Virgen de los Ángeles).
